Dear Patient,

You have been provided with this link as you have signed up to receive information about the testing that we provide via one of our patient support partners.

We appreciate the time that you have already invested in researching options for treatment and that you have chosen to come to us for support.

Our services are paid for in advance, so that we can supply the appropriate sample collection materials and courier supplies needed.

Before you decide to order the tests, please be aware of the following:

  1. Informed Consent: Before providing your tissues to be sent to the labs for testing, we will ask your physician to get your consent for the testing.  Patients must provide informed consent before undergoing tumour testing, which involves understanding the purpose, potential benefits, limitations, risks, and alternatives to testing. They should also be aware of how their information will be used and protected.

  2. Purpose of Testing: You should understand what tests have already been done on your samples and that the results we provide can result in a changed prognosis.  The results may also reveal potential eligibility for targeted therapies or clinical trials of experimental treatments.

  3. Potential Benefits: The potential benefits of tumour testing, such as personalized treatment recommendations, improved outcomes, and access to targeted therapies or clinical trials that may not be otherwise available.

  4. Limitations: It's essential to understand the limitations of tumour testing. While testing can provide valuable information, it may not always yield actionable results - not all mutations have approved targeted therapies. Additionally, tumour testing may not identify all relevant mutations, and results can be influenced by factors such as tumour heterogeneity and technical limitations of the testing method.

  5. Clinical Trials: Identifying a mutation required for inclusion in a clinical trial does not guarantee that you will be enrolled in the trial – it is very likely other factors such as lung, heart or kidney function are taken into account and the trial may no longer be enrolling patients in your area.

  6. Insurance Coverage: Our tests are currently not covered by insurance companies.  If you go ahead, you will need to pay up front for the full cost of testing.  If your physician does not release your material, you will receive a refund on the cost of testing.

  7. Confidentiality and Privacy: Your information will be protected to ensure confidentiality and privacy. Your name, date of birth, address and payment information will not be revealed to the laboratory.  Your material will be coded in a way that will allow the reports to be used in clinical trials or by your physician.  You and your physician will have the code for de-anonymising your report.  Your genetic information will be protected according in line with HIPAA regulations and those in force in the state of California.  Your physician will not automatically receive the report, unless the report is provided by you.

  8. Impact on Treatment Decisions: You are free to discuss your results with your healthcare provider.  The data is yours to share.  In addition to the clinical trials identified on our laboratory report, our partner (Ancora.ai) provides a service to identify clinical trials recruiting in your area and is ready to support you in your treatment journey.

  9. Emotional Considerations: You should be prepared for the emotional impact of receiving tumour testing results. It is essential to have access to emotional support and counselling resources throughout the testing process.

If you agree to the above considerations, please do proceed to the patient portal using the credentials in the email that you received with this link.

Kind regards
